I now have more time in recovery than I did in addiction.
I now have more time in recovery than I did in addiction.
I had my first alcoholic beverage during my first semester of college. I started drinking alcoholically while also developing bulimia in my second semester. Nine years of my life were spent battling my addictions with food and alcohol.
Nine + years have since been spent, present & whole, in recovery.
Recovery is so powerful and so very possible.
I’m 85 days away from celebrating 10 continuous years sober. Recovery is a daily choice and commitment. It does not get easier, although life generally speaking does. It is a journey of growth and change. It’s given me everything. I’m extraordinarily grateful to be on this path, and don’t take a single day for granted.
One day at a time, it works.❤️
